Sisters of New York Biography

Assalaamualaykum waramatullah

The name Sisters of New York was created under the umbrella of my business original business "Qurratul-Uyoon Clothing".  When I  put Qurratul-uyoon, a business I started in 2006-2007, on hold, I decided to use the name Sisters of New York, and plan events.  My first event was Qurratul-Uyoon Sisters’ Business Exhibition followed by Qurratul-yoon Sisters’ Exhibition and fashion show, which was done to help sisters and their businesses become known to the community. During the planning of events, I have incorporated a group of my close sister to help me. Alhamdulillah with the Mercy of Allah these sisters were very helpful and accommodating.   This is when the name Sisters of New York came into full existence.  With my sisters on board I went on to plan my next event which was the sisters Luncheon, followed by the “Little Miss Tea Party”.  

“Sisters of New York” was established in 2010 in order to bring the sisters in our community together.  However, along the way we have managed to bring a number of sisters together from other communities as well.  So far we have been blessed with having our 1^st Sisters’ Luncheon May 2010, followed by our Little Miss Tea Party in February 2010, and our Eid Bowling in November 2010.  With Allah’s permission we have also had a Sisters Spa Day in Feb, 2011.  Maasha’Allah all of our events have been a success.  Insha’Allah we plan to continue our events for years to come.

Our goal is to bring the sisters together in a Halal and virtuous manner.  We strive to hold on to the rope of Allah.  “Allah says that Verily, the most honorable of you in Allah’s estimation is that (believer) who is most pious”.  (49:13); Our intentions insha’Allah is to bring the sisters closer and learn to love each other for the pleasure of Allah. 

Allah says to Prophet Muhammad (Salla’Allahualayi wasalaam) “If you love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you” (3:31)…We pray that we are following Allah and his messenger to the best of our ability and gaining his love along the way. May Allah allow us the (”Sisters of New York”) to continue to do events for the pleasure of Allah only, and at the same time benefit the sisters around the world.  Ameen.
